Leo Charles Mangold Jr., age 93, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Newton Health Care Center in Newton, Iowa.
Leo was born on July 14, 1931, in Washington, IA, the son of Leo Charles and Jessie (Hesseltine) Mangold. Following High School, Leo served his Country in the United States Army, during the Korean War. In 1973, he was united in marriage to Rosemary “Rosie” Rodenhofer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Leo worked as a union electrician. He was a member of the I.B.E.W.
Leo was an electrician by trade until he retired. Leo enjoyed taking trips Meskwaki Casinio in Tama. He also loved fishing, hunting, camping, and decorating his house for the holidays. Leo, also known by his friends as Chuck, had so much love for his dog Princess for a long loving 18 years. He will be missed by so many, including his dear close friends: Rebel, Deborah, Dakota, and Destiny of the Andrew family, Mark and Sandie Serbousek.
He is survived by his daughters, Diane (Bob) Salloum, Karen (Ron) French, Jamie (John) Dillman, Susan Kula; step daughter, Victoria Ghandi; and many grandchildren and, great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Rosie in 2023; her son Michael, and his sister, A. Maxine Kelemen.
Leo chose to donate his body to University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine for scientific studies.
