Barbara "Bobbie" Sue (Robinson) Rinderknecht, age 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, with her family by her side.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Atkins, with Rev. Jeff Schanbacher officiating. The family will greet friends from 9:00 until 10:45 AM, Tuesday, also at the church. A memorial fund has been established.
Barbara was born on October 1, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Margaret (State) Robinson. She graduated from Ankeny High School with the class of 1971 and attended Iowa State University.
On December 21, 1974, she married William “Bill” Rinderknecht in Ankeny. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past Saturday.
Barbara worked at the Atkins Savings Bank for a number of years, prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, The Women’s Club, and Card Club in Atkins. She truly loved her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Bill; four sons, Heath Rinderknecht of Cedar Rapids, and his children, Logan (Alexa) of Cedar Rapids, Seth (Bailey) of Omaha, and their daughter Collins, Lauren (Jeremy Carter) of West Des Moines, Jeremy (Heather) Rinderknecht of Atkins, and their children Emery, and William, Todd Rinderknecht of Atkins and his son Hunter, and Joshua (Erin) Rinderknecht of Atkins; her mother, Margaret Robinson of Ankeny; brother, John (Sue) Robinson of Boonville, MO; and her sister, Debbie Longnecker of Ankeny.
She was preceded in death by her father Francis Robinson; father-in-law Edward Rinderknecht, and mother-in-law Margaret Rinderknecht.
