Richard Carr, 85, died Saturday, December 21, 2024, at his home following an extended illness.
There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa has taken Richard and his family into their care.
Surviving are his wife Teresa, 5 children, Tammy (Gary) Campbell, Kevin (Cori), Kent (Dee), Theresa (Steve) Welch, Shelly (Kameron) Carr-Peterschmidt, 23, grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, a son Zack, 7 siblings, Ray, Ben, George, Robert, Helen, Betty and Steve.
Richard Eugene Carr was born July 22, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Benjamin and Helen Harkins, Carr. He received his education in the Clinton, Iowa schools. Richard worked as a Union Ironworker, Local 89. He married Teresa Reilly on August 14, 1971, in Cedar Rapids.
Dick enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing, and being on the Mississippi. He will be remembered by many as a free spirit and a good time.
