Kristine Louise Fish was born June 9, 1947, in St. Cloud, Minn., the daughter of Lester and Mary (Terrill) Fish. She received college degrees from Fort Dodge Community College, Graceland College and the University of Iowa. She was united in marriage to Steven C. Schooley on July 6, 1968, in West Branch. Kristine was employed by University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in many departments for almost 40 years.
Kris was not one to seek out attention. She was one of the working bees, whether it was at the hospital, her church, or around others. She loved the outdoors, Mother Nature, gardening and sharing its bounty with others. She also was a quilter for life and again shared these with others. She met her husband at a chess match, something they have continued to enjoy in nearly 50 years of marriage. She was an avid reader, one to continue to seek out knowledge, and who always had that special place in her heart for her dogs and cats! Not only her own pets, she also was known to have treats for neighborhood dogs, and she loved to share the catnip she grew with any cat lovers she knew!
Her family includes her husband, Steven; brothers, Alan Fish of Gilbert, Ariz., and Nels Fish of Arlington, Wash.; sister, Marsha Yeoman of Corwith, Iowa; sister-in-law, Cheryl Richey of Washington, Iowa; and, of course, her two feline children, Jenny and Azalea.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Steven and Hans Fish.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Kris' family and her services.
