Daniel “Dan” Rogahn, 42, died Thursday, December 12, 2024, and is now at peace after struggling with severe mental illness for 25 years; however, this does not define him. He was a father, an accomplished guitarist, an artist, excelled at writing and loved pets. He married Kate Kraft in 2005; they divorced in 2013. To this union, their son, Connor was born, a successful student at Eckert College in St. Petersburg, Florida.
He is survived by his parents, Lynn and Kurt Rogahn; son, Connor; sister, Laurel (Jesse) Davis and their children, Alana and Steven; grandmother, Olive Behmke of St. Petersburg, Florida; uncles, James (Donna) Behmke of Columbus, Indiana; Keith (Linda) Behmke of Muskego, Wisconsin; two aunts, Karen Love of Gulfport, Florida and Kathie Smith of Winchester, Virginia; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, with a time of sharing at 5:30 p.m., at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness-Linn County, P.O. Box 945, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52406, or Willis Dady Shelter. Online condolences may be made to the
