Mercedes Theodora “Mickey” (Eischeid) Schloss was born February 4, 1925, at Halbur, Iowa, the daughter of George Eischeid and Matilda (Olbertz) Eischeid. Mickey died December 12. 2024, survived by her children, Danny (Terry) Schloss, Oshkosh, WI, Timothy (Debby) Schloss, Strawberry Point, IA, Joseph (Debbie) Schloss, Spencer. IA, and Karen Schloss, Dyersville, IA, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Roger Schloss and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband John, her parents, her sisters, her brothers and a great-grandchild.
Mickey was self-employed with her husband as owners of Backbone Motel and the A & W drive-in in Strawberry Point for twenty-nine years. She greatly enjoyed doing craft Christmas decorations for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Mickey’s life will be held Saturday February 1, 2025, with a funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point, Iowa. Mickey was cremated. Interment will be at Cass Township Cemetery, Strawberry Point, Iowa.
