Aaron Keith Meyer, 35, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, following a car accident near Williamsburg. The family
will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Springville United Methodist Church, Springville, conducted by Pastor Sue-Ellen Sherman. The family also will greet friends one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow at Springville Cemetery.
Aaron was born the son of Keith and Peggy (Fitzgerald) Meyer on Jan. 15, 1982, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He attended Springville High School. Aaron was employed with Blahnik Construction as a cement mason finisher. He also was a union member for Plasters and Cement Masons Local 21.
Aaron will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his children, Taya Jo and Devon Keith Meyer, both of Cedar Rapids; father, Keith (fiancee, Connie Huber) Meyer of Cedar Rapids; mother, Peggy Meyer of Cedar Rapids; brothers, James (Stephanie) Howard of Muskego, Wis., Jeremy Meyer of Cedar Rapids, Adam Meyer of Cedar Rapids, Jeff (Angela) Hamlin of Arizona and Dave Huber of Mount Vernon; sister, Stacy (Mitch) Parmer of Cedar Rapids; seven nieces and three nephews; one great-niece and great-nephew; a host of extended family members, including several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by all of his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the Aaron Meyer Memorial Fund to be directed toward his children's education.
