Greg Charles Moore, 59, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Greg was born on January 13, 1965, in Queens, New York, to Arthur and Lorraine (Wopperer) Moore. He graduated from Piper High School in 1983 and attended Kirkwood Community College.
On September 7, 1996, he celebrated his marriage to the love of his life, Cheryl Hitchcock, in Maui, Hawaii. They met when Cheryl had just completed her nursing education in Florida, with him being her first patient. Their relationship blossomed through various admissions, culminating in a two-year romance. Greg chose to propose to her during a holiday visit to New York City at the iconic Empire State Building. They cherished the moments they spent together.
He cherished his IROC car and has always wanted to restore it. He found great joy in being outdoors and traveled to Colorado to hike in the scenic Glenwood Springs area. He continually embraced hope.
He never wavered in his hope. His resilience was evident to everyone, particularly in light of the challenges he faced. His unwavering faith was a testament to the trials he overcame.
Survivors include his spouse, Cheryl Hitchcock-Moore of Anamosa, Iowa; brother, Gary (Manon) Moore of Florida; Nieces, Michelle Moore of Maryland, and Lisa Hitchcock of New York; nephew, Joe (Michelle) Moore of Florida; and brother-in-law, Bill Hitchcock of New York.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and sister, Gail Moore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of Cheryl Hitchcock-Moore.
