After a brief illness, surrounded by loving family, Elaine M. Wille, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024. Private family services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for the family.
Elaine was born March 1, 1942, in Springville, the daughter of Melvin and Alice (Vahl) Rich. She attended school in Central City. On October 28, 1963, Elaine was united in marriage to Larry Wille in Lancaster, MO. Elaine was a CNA for many years at the Linn County Care Facility. She also shared her “spunk” working at Sammy’s Lounge until her retirement.
In her leisure time, Elaine loved playing bingo, reading, listening to music, and being the assistant to the Activities director at Winslow House Care Center.
Left to cherish Elaine’s memory are her six daughters: Cindy Rock of Garrison, Elaine Amundson of Lone Tree, Lorie Curfman of Vinton, Kay Patten of Cedar Rapids, Heidi Rock (Kenny) of Garner, and Kim Tigges (Mario) of Cedar Rapids; sixteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; siblings: Dorothy Bragg, Donna Pickering, Ruthann Sickles, and Ed Rich; son-in-law, Curtiss P Dart; and grandson, Jamie Kies.
The family would like extend a special thank-you to Hospice Compassus for the wonderful care of Elaine.
