Clayton Robert (Bob) Mundorf, 93, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died November 23rd, 2024.
Funeral Services will be held at Wellington Heights Community Church at a later date. Bob will be cremated and laid to rest next to his wife Jean Mundorf. Donations may be made to Hospice of Mercy.
Bob was born November 6th, 1931 in Atlantic, Iowa. Bob joined the Army in 1952 and served for two years. Bob and Jean were huge Hawkeye fans. Bob was an equipment manager for the Hawks for many years and got to work beside Coaches Fry and Ferentz. He was a hard worker and loved to have fun. Many knew him for his sense of humor. He always had a way to light up a room. His kids and grandkids’ kids all became huge Hawk fans as well. He would spoil the grandkids by taking them to the “bubble” in Iowa City, the Hawks’ practice facility. Later after retirement, he and Jean moved to Washington, then California, before coming home to Marion for their final years.
Bob is survived his four kids, Jerene, Anthony (Traci Fisher) Mundorf, Christopher Mundorf (Sharon Warren), Brad Mundorf; stepchildren Pam (Larry) Hoffman, and Michael Sabus; grandchildren Jeremy, Bryson, Nick, Matt, Mitch, Samantha, Isaac, Andrea, Breanna, Catherine, Danielle and Christopher; and great-great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife MarJean, son Richard Mundorf and stepchildren Timothy, Stephanie and Steven.
We are forever grateful for the care that The Views of Cedar Rapids Meadowview Memory Care and Hospice of Mercy.
