Joan Miriam Nix (Kramer), 57, of Vinton, died Monday, November 25, 2024, in Unity Point St. Lukes Hospital from a long illness. Celebration of Life Services will be scheduled for Spring of 2025. Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her mother, Sharon McKnight of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her lifetime partner, Chad Peterson of Vinton, Iowa, her sister, June Dillon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her uncles, Allan and Eldon Blessing, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her grandchildren, Khalid, Malachi, Mason Al-yasiri, Chance Richards, Trendon, Robert, and Mathew Walker, and many more family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Kramer, her daughter, Jennifer Nix and grandparents, Paul and Margaret Blessing and Ken McKnight, and her grandchildren Yassir and Duey Al-yasiri.
Joan was born on January 30, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Sharon (Blessings) Kramer. She was a manager in food service for many years.
