Gladys Marie McShane, 79, of Springville, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Pinicon Senior Living in Anamosa, Iowa. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Born on January 18, 1945, in Whittier, Iowa, Gladys was the third of four children to Morris and Margaret (Stratton) Hoge. She graduated from Springville High School and, on October 16, 1965, married the love of her life, Steven McShane, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Together, they dedicated their lives to farming in Springville. She held a profound love for the Lord. She had a spirited sense of humor, often sharing her laughter with those around her. Gladys was passionate about gardening, fishing, horseback riding, reading, and, above all, cherishing moments with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Steven McShane; children, Troy (Diane) McShane and Karmin McShane (Shawn Voigt); grandchildren, Ryan (Janey) McShane, Amanda (Mark) Kelchen, Alexander Bradbury, Hannah (Zach) Cain, Emma (Parker) Steffen, and Graham Bradbury; step-grandchildren, Harrison Voigt, Jackson Voigt, Madison Voigt, Mackenzie Voigt; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Hoge, Lois Johnson, and Norma Cress; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Whittier Friends Meeting or Whittier Community Building.
