Marlin Weyant, 76, of Dubuque, formerly of Oelwein, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Celebration of Life service will then begin at 7 p.m. Interment services will be held privately in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
A memorial fund has been established.

Marlin George Weyant was born in Fayette, Iowa, on Jan. 7, 1941, to parents George and Lulu (Nading) Weyant. He graduated from Fayette High School with the Class of 1959. On Oct. 1, 1960, Marlin was united in marriage with Victoria Jean Barth in Oelwein. He attended and graduated from Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar. Marlin worked many years as a tax accountant and bookkeeper.
He was an avid fan of all Iowa Hawkeyes teams and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed working the daily crossword puzzle and loved Christmastime. Most of all, he loved time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vickie (2015); and his sisters, Eula Larson and Luella Pattison.
Left to celebrate Marlin's life are his children, Rhonda (Russ) Smith of Tampa, Fla., Mona (Dominic) Grasso of Hazleton, Mark (friend Lori) Weyant of Fort Dodge, Michael (Ann) Weyant of Cedar Rapids and Karrie (Mark) Mullen of Dubuque; 17 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Hanson, Phyllis Engler and Lois (Mervin) Gregerson; brothers, Don (Shirley) Weyant, Whitey (Mary) Weyant and Eugene (Michelle) Weyant; brother-in-law, Vernie Larson; and several nieces and nephews.
