An Iowa City man was sentenced last week to 80 months — nearly seven years — in federal prison for a charge of receiving child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Ivan Galvan, 31, was arrested in 2021 after law enforcement received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that he had uploaded a video that had child sexual abuse material. Investigators searched his social media account and found eight more videos and a picture containing child pornography. They later searched his Iowa City residence and found additional videos and images on electronic devices there.
Galvan also was ordered to serve five years of supervised release after his prison term and pay $9,000 in restitution, a U.S. Attorney’s Office news release states.
