NORTH LIBERTY — Charges are pending against a driver who struck a pedestrian in North Liberty on Friday night — causing life-threatening injuries — and fled the scene.
Carson Boyle, 21, of Urbandale, was crossing W. Penn Street at 925 Liberty Way, in front of Tin Roost at 9:38 p.m., when he was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee being driven by 25-year-old Tagian D. Hughes, of North Liberty, according to a crash report from the Iowa State Patrol.
Hughes fled the scene eastbound, but was later located by law enforcement, the report states. Charges are pending.
Boyle was taken by ambulance to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
