Marjory "Meg" E. Sailor,
85, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital. Per Meg's wishes, she had donated her body to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program and there will be no services. Arrangements are by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Survivors include her dog, Sami; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; four brothers; and a sister.
Marjory was born Jan. 19, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of David and Hazel (Hampton) Gillmore. She graduated from St. Luke's School of Practical Nursing and St. Luke's School of Radiology Technology. On March 7, 1957, she married James Sailor in Cedar Rapids. Meg was employed for many years at Cedar Rapids Radiology and later at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
She was a very active member of the Iowa City Dog Obedience Club. Meg enjoyed showing dogs at shows, traveling all across the Midwest, and thought of her dog club friends as family. She loved nature and animals. Meg enjoyed cooking, especially making pies, and entertaining friends and family.
Memorials in memory of Meg may be directed to the Iowa City Dog Obedience Club in care of Treasurer, Kathy Stepp, at 3428 Ridgecrest Dr. NE, North Liberty, IA 52317. Memorials will be donated to various animal organizations.
