Linda Marie Montague, 71, passed peacefully Friday, November 8, 2024, at Care Initiatives Heritage Specialty Care. A private family service was held, and a public Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Linda was born July 11, 1953, to Frank and Barbara (Emberg) Montague. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1971. After high school, she went to work for Mercy Hospital Daycare, Surgical Processing Department, and Housekeeping. Then went on to pursue Acme Graphics within the book binding department. After working many years at Acme, she started another career in the hospital industry at St. Luke’s Hospital, in the surgical processing department, where she worked until she retired.
In Linda’s spare time, she loved to be with her family near and far. From the family in the Cedar Rapids area, to her cousins, aunt, and uncle in Lakewood, Colorado.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Ronnie Montague; and an adult brother, Larry Montague.
Linda is survived by her older brother, Gary Montague of Cedar Rapids; her one and only son, Jamie (Jamie) Fortner of Marion; and her granddaughter, Savannah BouBin-Fortner of Marion.
Condolences and memorials may be made to her son at 2275 Prairie Hill Drive, Marion, IA 52302. All donations will be used to provide books and activities for the residents at Care Initiatives Heritage Specialty Care.
