Rachel Irene Day, 98, of Marion, died Saturday, November 9, 2024, surrounded by family. Graveside services are set for 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Celebration of life to follow at Creekside Bible Church, 1410 44th St., Marion.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Melanie Svoboda, Marion, IA, Theresa Easton Omaha, NE; great-grandchildren Devon (Hope), James (Isabella), Dylan, Jacob, Edison. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, A. L. Day, daughter Sharon Easton, and son-in-law Ed.
Rachel was born on July 5, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Frank and LaVerna Ehrenberger. She married A.L. Day on August 27, 1983 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Rachel was a Deputy Clerk for Linn County. She enjoyed China painting, cross stich, crafts, and cooking. She was a bird and flower enthusiast but most of all she loved caring for her family.
