Sandra (Sandie) Allen, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away on November 7, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1943, in Allamakee County, Iowa. Sandie is survived by her children: Kristine (Rob) Magill and their children, Joelle (Jon) Bartleson and their children, and Todd (Kelli) Allen and their children. Sandie’s husband of 38 years, Mike Allen, preceded her in death. Grandson, Jordan Michael Allen, also preceded her in death.
Sandie retired from her professional career of teaching after 34 years of dedicated service. She was a recipient of many acknowledgements for her work with young children. Following her retirement, Sandie spent many hours mentoring parents of children dealing with learning disabilities. She also continued her education to give support to individuals dealing with dementia as well as supporting their caregivers.
Friends and family who wish to commemorate her passing and her life may choose to support a charity of their choice or simply be really nice to one another. We will meet again – “On the other side of the Rainbow.” Together – experiencing our eternal lives.
