Kudos
Mercy use of technology cited: Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids has been awarded the 2024 Chime Digital Health “Most Wired” recognition as a certified Level 9 (out of 10) organization — making it the highest-ranking hospital in Iowa — for the use of health care technology in its acute and ambulatory care delivery. This is the 17th time since 2006 that Mercy has received the recognition.
Other news
Small business of the week: U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, last week named Revelton Distilling Co. of Clarke County as her small business of the week.
After learning that Kentucky bourbon producers were using Iowa corn in its production, Robert and Christi Taylor attended a distillery school in 2016 and opened Revelton in Osceola in 2020. More than 600 bars, restaurants and retailers now carry their spirits, including barrel-aged bourbon and award-winning mulberry gin.
Ernst, the ranking member on the Senate’s Small Business Committee, is naming one exceptional small business of the week in each of Iowa’s counties during this congressional session.
