Patricia “Pat” Ann Clark, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Cedar Rapids on July 15, 1937, Pat was the daughter of Herald and Dorothy (Sisco) Nichols. Growing up she fondly remembered fishing with her father and spending time baking, shopping, picnicking, and enjoying garage sales with her mother and sister—simple pleasures that would stay with her throughout her life.
Family was at the heart of Pat’s life, and she treasured every moment spent with loved ones. Whether it was enjoying a lively game of euchre or Phase 10 or attending family gatherings—picnics under the pavilion, Halloween parties, or birthday and holiday celebrations—Pat poured her heart into making each occasion special. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen and appreciated, often going out of her way to ensure that those around her knew how much they meant to her.
Pat loved dancing, dressing up for special occasions, and was an active member of the Solos Club, where she formed lasting friendships. Her passion for connecting with others was evident in every endeavor she pursued.
Pat’s fierce advocacy for the overlooked and underestimated made her a source of strength and support for many. She instilled in her family the importance of kindness, perseverance, and love.
Her devotion to her family was unmatched. She is survived by her children, Duane Dronebarger, Laura (Don) Viergever, Kathy (Mark) Abernathey, Rusty Dronebarger, and Dawn (Al) Whiteman; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and husband, Reva and Pete Bell; son, David Dronebarger; and several beloved family members, including nephew Randy Abernathy and niece Deana Porter.
Pat’s legacy of love, laughter, and unbreakable bonds will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Special thanks are due to her niece, Tarol, and grandniece, Savannah, for providing comfort and sharing in Pat's love of card games and laughter in her final days.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Olivet Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids. Interment will be at Linwood Cemetery. A reception will follow interment at Olivet. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Olivet Presbyterian Church in Pat's honor.
