Future under Trump is bleak

In October 2022, The Gazette published my letter warning of the GOP's campaign on "White Nationalism." In two years, they have lived up to their destruction of our democracy. They have been successful in banning books and dictating school curriculum to fit their distortion of history. Even without Trump as president, he managed to get his far right Supreme Court to do his bidding. The court struck down Roe vs Wade, then ruled that the president can do anything he wants without retribution as long as it is a presidential order.
The future under another Trump term is bleak. He is a bumbling fool who somehow can lie his way out of anything. He berates all of us, thinking we are not as smart as he is after all he knows more than the "generals." Now those same generals are telling us he is dangerous and not fit to be our leader. Trump couldn't deal with COVID, he wouldn't listen to the experts. He is now a convicted criminal and still has more cases pending. He is hoping he can win to avoid a prison term.
Trump has disparaged all races except his wealthy white supporters. He has said America is a "garbage can." He bragged about draining the "swamp,“ but he just exposed his own sewer rats. It's time to take out the garbage on November 5.
