Chad William Landas
Chad William Landas
Hopkinton
Chad William Landas, 48, of Hopkinton passed away on October 30th surrounded by his loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Chad’s life will be held on Saturday, November 9th at The Stone City General Store from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Chad was born on January 26th, 1976, in West Union, Iowa to Robert William Landas, Jr. and Bevely Wunder. He graduated from Anamosa High School in 1995.
After many years in construction and a butcher at Fareway & Hy-Vee, Chad was able to work his dream job at Stindt Motors in Dubuque.
Chad and his dad built his home in rural Hopkinton so he could be close to his #1 daughter, Isabel. His hobbies included hunting those elusive mushrooms, camping, skateboarding, floating down the Wapsi, and cooking. His greatest joy was the time spent with his family and friends. He touched the lives of so many with his contagious smile. His love for life will be missed by everyone. Chad was a friend to everyone and would literally give you the shirt off his back. He was loyal, honest, and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. If you were having a dark day, he would capture the sun for you.
To know Chad “Big Willie” Landas was to love him.
Chad is lovingly survived by his daughter Isabel, parents, Robert Landas (Michelle Bart) and Bev Wunder, sister Katie (Ryan) Hall, nieces and nephews Ashlynn, Tate, Miles, Liam, Bobbi and Clay, and his special friend, Anna O’Neal.
Chad was preceded in death by his stepfather Jim Wunder, grandparents Eugene and Wilma Cox and Robert and Marge Landas.
“Say yes today because tomorrow is never promised.”
