Our precious mother and grandmother, Florence Evelyn French, 92, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Northbrook Manor Care Center. A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church: 2424 – 42nd Street NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Florence was born on October 10, 1932, in Everton, Arkansas to William and Mary Parrish. Florence married the love of her life Emil French on April 21, 1952. Emil and Florence made their home in Robins, Iowa where they raised seven children. Florence worked at Rockwell Collins for 25 years until retiring to care for her mother. In later years Florence and Emil delivered the Cedar Rapids Gazette to rural areas. Florence was a wonderful person that loved her family with all her heart. Florence enjoyed going out to dinner, movies, and going to the casino occasionally. She loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor.
Survivors include her children, Dale (Song), Darrel (Lori), Dennis (Peggy), Matt (Stephanie), Mark (Tracy), and Mary (Bob) French-Donahue; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Emil, and a son, Daniel.
