Hopkinton man dies after crashing near Linn County’s Prairieburg

A Hopkinton man has died from injuries he sustained in late October when his car crashed, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
Chad Landas, 48, was driving a blue Mercury Sable about 3:20 a.m. Oct. 20 when it left the roadway at Monticello and Prairieburg roads, north of Prairieburg, and rolled in a farm field, a sheriff’s new release states.
Landas was trapped in the car when first responders arrived and had to be removed by mechanical means before being flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The crash remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
