Elaine A. Ott, of Manchester, formerly of Marion, passed away on October 21, 2024, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, following a life well lived. She was 92 years old. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester assisted the family.
Born on January 22, 1932, in Monroe, Wisconsin, to Ray and Lucille Beckman, Elaine attended Monroe High School. She met her beloved husband, Harold S. Ott, at the Turner Dance Hall, which ignited a love affair where they danced and traveled together for 57 wonderful years until his passing in 2008.
Elaine and Harold settled in Marion, Iowa, and raised a family. Elaine enjoyed a successful 34-year career in banking with Peoples Bank & Trust, Norwest, and Wells Fargo before retiring. Later in life, they moved to Lake Delhi, where she found joy in being near the water and tending to her garden. Elaine embraced her family and friends with warmth and kindness; she was a true friend to all and never met a stranger. She enjoyed creating flower arrangements, participating in the festival of trees, playing cards and games with her grandson, mushroom hunting, and her independence.
She is survived by her two children: Becky (Steve) Lindaman of Charles City, Iowa, and Craig (Susan) Ott of Nashville, Tennessee; her grandson, Will (Lissa) Stigall of Christiansburg, Virginia; and her sister, Judy Gerber of Waupun, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ray Jr. (Caroline) Beckman., and her sister Janet (George) Gramling.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date at Beckman Lake, Monroe, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Good Neighbor Home’s Staff in Elaine’s memory.
