Harlan Jason Main, 96, of Anamosa, formerly of Stone City, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at the Anamosa Care Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Viola Methodist Church, Viola, with Kris and Jim May officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Chapel Cemetery, rural Morley.
Surviving are his brother, Donald (Janet); and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Lowella Heasley; and brothers, Earl and Dale.
Harlan was born near Morley, Iowa, to Jake and Bessie (Cook) Main. He grew up near Morley and graduated from Morley High School. He married Rachel Klinefelter in 1943; she died in 2002. He was employed most of his life as a mechanic working for Freese Motors, the Anamosa school bus garage and Jones County road maintenance. Harlan and Rachel enjoyed horseback riding, dancing, card club and family.
The family would like to thank Harlan's wonderful caretakers at Anamosa Care Center and Above and Beyond Hospice, and a special thanks to his friend and roommate, Elmer, for keeping a good watch over our beloved Harlan.
