Iowa high school football playoffs 2024: Round of 16 matchups, brackets for all 7 classes

Sixteen teams remain in the chase for a state championship in each of the seven Iowa high school football classes. The Iowa High School Athletic Association released updated postseason pairings Saturday morning.

Teams are grouped into four brackets of four in each class for this phase. The winners of the Nov. 1 games play in the quarterfinals the following week. Those winners advance to the state semifinals at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, where they’ll be reseeded.

The Class 5A field was determined solely by RPI. Class 4A and Class 3A district champions and runners-up automatically advanced and at-large qualifiers earned bids via RPI.

This is the second round of the postseason for 2A, 1A, A and 8-Player teams. Here’s a look at the scores and more details from their first-round games Friday night.
