Juvenile injured in Cedar Rapids shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS — A young man was injured Thursday night in a shooting in southeast Cedar Rapids, according to police.
Cedar Rapids police responded about 6:53 p.m. to the 300 block of 16th Street SE for a report of shots fired. Officers found a juvenile male with a non-life threatening gunshot wound on a “lower extremity,” a police news release states.
He was treated on the scene and then taken to a hospital. The name and age of the victim were not released.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and police were asking anyone with information to call (319) 286-5491.
