CEDAR RAPIDS — A Fort Dodge man was arrested Wednesday in Linn County and charged with violently killing a cat.
Jacob Mills, 38, is charged with animal abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor.
According to a criminal complaint, Mills took a cat belonging to someone else and killed it Wednesday by throwing it onto a concrete street in northeast Cedar Rapids. Mills admitted to police that he “killed the cat by violence,” the complaint states.
He had his first appearance in court Thursday and was being held in the Linn County Jail on $5,000 bail.
