Authorities release name of man killed in crash near Palo

CEDER RAPIDS — The Linn County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a man who died Wednesday in a crash near Palo.
Rodney Dean Boren, 65, of Cedar Rapids, was driving south on Covington Road near Chain Bridge Road when he went off the road and entered a ditch, according to a news release. The car rolled and caught on fire, and Boren died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, the release states.
