Patricia Mary Brandt, 90, passed away peacefully at Briarwood Health Care Center on Sunda,y October 13, 2024.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, October 17 at St. Patrick Parish Hall, Iowa City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 18 at 11:30am at St. Patrick’s Church with Father Troy Richmond and Fr. Ed Fitzpatrick officiating. Private burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Iowa City.
Memorials may be directed to The Regina Foundation, St. Patrick Catholic Church or Briarwood Health Care Center.
Pat was born on August 27, 1934, to William J. and Elizabeth (Kellenberger) Holland. She graduated from St. Patrick High School in 1952. Pat married Clement “Tim” Brandt on July 11, 1953 at St. Patrick Church, Iowa City. Pat spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active volunteer in the community, serving on numerous boards and committees for St. Patrick, Iowa City Catholic Grade School, Regina Jr/Sr High School, Mercy Foundation and Alpha Chi Omega.
Pat is survived by her 8 children and spouses, Jo Ellen and Terry Dickens, TJ and Carolyn Brandt, Bill and Deb Brandt, John and Debbie Brandt, Katy and Brett Lincoln, Bob Brandt, Tom and Amy Brandt and Mike and Katie Brandt, all of Iowa City, 26 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, her brother Rear Adm William J. (Anne) Holland of Springfield, VA, her sister Anne Lumsden of LaVerne, CA, and many nieces, nephews and extended relatives.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchildren Alice Lincoln, Tony Brandt, and grandchild-in-law Jamie Jarrett.
The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the staff at Briarwood for the constant care and love they gave to our mom throughout the last three and half years.
