Loras Robert Osweiler was born December 6, 1955, in Sigourney, Iowa the son of Robert W. and Marilyn Lou (Bickford) Osweiler. Loras died on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, at the age of 68 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Jane; two children, Jennifer (Jeff) Lundquist and Adam (Carlene) Osweiler; his favorite grandsons, Bryce, Grayson and Parker; his favorite granddaughter, Florissa; siblings Tom Osweiler of Cedar Rapids, Becky Osweiler-Hott of Johnston, Kurt Osweiler of Williamsburg, Scott Osweiler of Story City, Mary (James) Gent of Wellman and Colleen Johnston of North Liberty; sister-in-law Margaret Osweiler of Webster; parents-in-law Eldon and Peggy Vercande; and many other in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jeff Osweiler and his sister Rhonda Osweiler.
A visitation will be Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 4:00 pm Thursday. A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 10:30 am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg. A general memorial fund has been established.
