Rose M. Haeg, 81, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, following a short illness. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, with a rosary led by the Knights of Columbus at 6:30 p.m. and a vigil service
at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will
be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at St. Jude Catholic Church, with a viewing
before the Mass beginning at 9 a.m.
Rose was born March 26, 1936, to Alfred and Clara (Larson) Herrig, and grew up on the family farm in Iona, Minn. On Sept. 19, 1959, she married Jerry Haeg. They moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1969.
Rose was a member of St. Jude Catholic Parish and worked at Younkers, Westdale Mall, as a distribution clerk. She enjoyed camping with her family, knitting, crocheting, caring for her flowers, attending her grandchildren's activities and telling stories of their accomplishments.
Rose is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughters, Lori (Jeff) Grummert of Deshler, Neb., Lynn (Kelly) Hancock of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Debra (Scott) Neff of Altoona, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Cody (Lindsey) Hancock of Baton Rouge, La., Jeffrey C. Grummert of Kearney, Neb., and Hannah Neff of Altoona, Iowa.
