Sandy Stuefen, 86, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024. Sandy spent her last weeks in loving care of her devoted son, Monty and Brooke Weberg. They were with her till the end.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Pug, parents Herb and Norma Easley, and sisters Ginny Easley and Elaine Martin.
She leaves behind 3 sons: Marty, Monty (Brooke), and Mickey (Tracy); 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and faithful dog, Peanut.
Sandy was born Jan. 18, 1938. She was a very beautiful, generous and talented woman. She crocheted many magnificent items for friends and family. She had a wonderful singing voice and could belt out country songs with the best of them. She and husband Pug (Pug and the Western Playboys) played and sang at weddings, parties, and lots of bars. In more recent years she and her friends played for nursing homes. She played the trumpet, trombone and guitar.
Sandy knew basketball. She played in high school and really enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeye Girls basketball team with her son Mickey. She loved going to garage sales, collecting many items (perhaps too many). She was always buying duck Knick-knacks and Christmas décor for son Marty. She especially loved finding cowboy hats and had quite a collection of hats and Western wear.
Sweet lady, you will be missed. We love you so much and are grateful for our time with you.
At Sandy’s request, there will be no services. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is caring for Sandy and her family.
Online condolences may be left for the family at www.broshchapel.com.
