Marilyn N. Bowker, 93, passed away peacefully on Sept. 7, 2017, in Sarasota, Fla.
Born in Chicago, Ill., on June 6, 1924, Marilyn was one of two daughters born to Roy and Esther (Crawford) VandeWalker. Marilyn lived most of her life in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, happily married for 50 years to James W. Bowker.
Marilyn was predeceased by her sister, Betty Littell; and husband, James W. Bowker.
Surviving family includes her daughter, Cynthia Voss, Sarasota, Fla.; and sons, Thomas Bowker (Deborah), Colorado Springs, Colo., and Michael Bowker (Tami), Black Earth, Wis.
Marilyn was a wonderful grandmother to seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Marilyn was an excellent homemaker and hostess. She was active in civic groups and her church. Her bright smile and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew her.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Tidewell Hospice, the Salvation Army or All Faiths Food Bank.
