Early morning assignments are never a bad thing because it means you’ll most likely get some amazing light. Tim Gallenbeck, who owns Let the Light In Window Cleaning, was working the morning of Sept. 26 at Blooms Garden Center in Marion. When he first started working on the front windows, it was mainly shaded, but as he progressed in the cleaning a small streak of light poked through illuminating his eyes. I loved the highlight it cast on his face and that it added a unique contrast to the dark background. I thought it was ironic the name of the company given the amazing light I was given to work with on this assignment.

I also wanted to take advantage of the window to get his reflection. Overall I like the way the elements came together in this photo, and I think it’s a fun approach to capturing a business assignment.
