Edward Lawrence Otten, 83, of Coralville, Iowa passed away on October 3, 2024, in his residence.
He was born March 16, 1941 in Anamosa, Iowa. He graduated high school in Anamosa, Class of 1959. He joined the Air Force and served from 1959-1963.
Ed was a sign painter for over 40 years. He lettered many trucks and race cars all over Eastern Iowa. He was involved in dirt track car racing and was a Steward for NASCAR for many years. He completed many sign jobs and paintings for the University of Iowa and was an avid Hawkeyes fan. He thoroughly enjoyed playing golf.
Ed married Shirley Ann Podhaski in 1964. They later divorced in 1981.
He is survived by his sister Pam of Anamosa, his son Doug of La Plata, Maryland, daughter Amy of Iowa City, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of funeral services, there was a celebration of life.
