Hiawatha man charged with sexual abuse of child
The abuse is alleged to have happened the same day defendant was arrested

A Hiawatha man was arrested Sunday on charges that he sexually abused a 9-year-old child at his residence in Hiawatha.
Arnoldo Martinez, 38, is charged with second-degree sexual abuse. He had his first appearance in court Monday and is being held on a cash-only, $25,000 bond.
According to a criminal complaint, the abuse happened Sunday morning. The child reported the abuse to a parent and later to a Hiawatha Police Officer.
A no-contact order has been filed on behalf of the child.
