IOWA CITY — Iowa football has its quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class.
Cash Herrera, a three-star recruit from La Jolla, Calf., announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes on Thursday. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound quarterback chose Iowa over offers from UCLA, Washington State, Virginia Tech, Minnesota and others.
Herrera was one of the recruits who visited Kinnick Stadium for Iowa’s Week 2 game against Iowa State. He is Iowa’s second 2026 commitment, joining Waterloo West offensive lineman Carson Nielsen.
On3 rated Herrera as the 44th-best quarterback in the 2026 class, and 247Sports rated him as the 43rd-best quarterback.
