With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Karen Jane Carpenter, 82, of Central City on September 25, 2024. Karen was born on April 1, 1942 in rural Central City. Karen’s life revolved around her family- and if she met you once, you were family. Her love ensured you had what you needed, even if it meant she had to do without, you never doubted how much she cared, and you never left her home hungry. Karen was preceded in death by her parents Don and Dorothy Byers, her husband John and her daughter Lora. Her love lives on in her children Dona, Pam, and Nick, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and many more.
Please join us in celebrating Karen’s life on Sunday, October 13 at the Falcon Civic Center in Central City from 1-4 pm. In her honor, a meal will be provided. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to help cover final expenses.
