Linda Lorenz, of Chicago and formerly of Oelwein and Cedar Rapids, died at her home on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018.
At Linda's request, there will be no visitation. The family plans to hold private services at a later date.
Linda is survived by her brothers, William (Dr. Ann Gessner) Lorenz of Ames and Michael (Barbara) Lorenz of Marion; sisters, Marcia Clendenen of Ames and Jan Lorenz of Waterloo; and 10 nieces and nephews, Jeff Clendenen, Zach and Kaylee of Ames, Jayme Ladwig of Cedar Rapids, LeeAnn and Brooklyn, Olivia Lorenz of Ames and Cody, Daniel and Claire Lorenz of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clair and Maxine Lorenz of Oelwein.
Linda was born on Aug. 3, 1944, to Clair and Maxine (Donahue) Lorenz. She graduated from Sacred Heart of Oelwein with the class of 1962, from Mount Mercy College in 1966, and later earned a Master's from Dartmouth College. A lifelong educator, Linda taught in schools in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo, and then in Chicago for more than 30 years at Hyde Park Academy before retiring.
