Christopher Alan Burns, 58, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Hospice House of Mercy surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer.
Survivors include his fiancee, Ruthann Wright of Cedar Rapids; brother, Matt (Shari) Burns of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Kristen (Mike) Thompson of Cedar Rapids and Lisa Burns of Marion; and a son, Robert Burns of Cedar Rapids. Other survivors include his six grandchildren, Owen, Claire, Kalynn, Caleb, McKenzie and Jayden.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley White; and father, Lee Burns.
Chris always took care of those close to his heart. He was an outstanding chef, loved music and made those around him laugh and smile. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of providing for his family.
