Edwin "Ed" E. Silver, 70, of Marion, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, in his home. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Mount Clark Cemetery in Central City. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is caring for the family.
Edwin Eugene was born March 23, 1947, in Central City, the son of James and Berdena (Wood) Silver. He attended school in Central City and then went into the construction industry. He married Chris Luerkens in 1964 and later divorced. Ed later married Donna McMullen. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, Cheryl, and his many close friends.
Ed is survived by his daughters Sheila and Vanessa; two stepchildren, Brett and Theresa Babak; grandchildren Christopher (Nicole), Kelsi (Sakhone), Holli (Brad), Abigail, Dani and Hunter; brothers Jim, Vern (Connie), Larry (DeeDee), Gerald (Anita) and Donnie (Ronnette) Silver; many nieces and nephews; and his very special friend Cheryl Olson.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; and brothers Harold "Herk" and Dave Silver.
