Thomas E. Meek, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Manor Care. Services with military rites
at 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Mike Morgan will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call
at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors include a daughter, Colette (Don) Glueck of Marion; a son, Steven (Denise); and a sister, Donna Young, all of Cedar Rapids. He also is survived by two grandchildren, Todd (Amber) Meek and Raymond Glueck; two great-grandchildren, Sierra and Jordan Meek; a sister-in-law, Gwen Meek; a special niece, Becky Railsback; and two great-nieces, Amber Moore and Kylie Railsback.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Jim and Jerry; and several sisters.
Tom was born March 16, 1927, in Greene, Iowa, the son of Louis and Thelma Meek. He married Naomi F. Harris on July 19, 1952, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Naomi passed away in 2008.
Tom was a mechanic at Seegers Truck and Trailer Repair for over 30 years, retiring in 2013. He was a member of the Hiawatha American Legion and proudly served in the Navy during World War II. Tom was a very hard worker and was meticulous with his yard. He enjoyed the time spent with his many friends and beloved family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
