Michael Henry Minor, 62, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away from complications of pneumonia on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at UnityPoint Health-St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids, surrounded by his family.
Survivors include sisters, Jackie (Doug) Stealey, Donna Kent, Mildred Mills, all of Cedar Rapids, IA; nieces and nephews, Megan Stealey of Coralville, IA, Alex Minor, Jimmy Kness, Brad Kness, all of Cedar Rapids, IA, Scott (Kerri) Kent of Cottage Grove, MN, Dan (Diana) Kent of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mitchell Kent of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Amanda Minor, Eric (Wendi) Minor, Adrienne Mills, all of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Kimberly Mills of Los Angeles, CA.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Veronica Minor, sister Laree Minor, brother Rick Minor, brother-in-law Steve Kent, and nephews Nick Stealey and Austin Kness.
Mike was born on August 16, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to Merle and Veronica Minor. Mike attended Jefferson High School and later joined the Marine Corps. Mike was an avid sports fan, particularly the game of football. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Philadelphia Eagles. He loved his family and was known for his sense of humor that was sure to put a smile on your face. Mike accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior years ago and we know he is rejoicing in Heaven. We look forward to the day when we are reunited with him.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date. Condolences or memories may be sent to the family in care of Stewart Baxter Memorial & Funeral Services in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
