Derek Doolin of Cedar Rapids died on September 19, 2024, from a long battle with cancer, the son of Emma Jean Turner and Emmitt Eugene Doolin. He is survived by his daughter Angel Vega (Rolando),eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; siblings Aaron, Dedric, Emmitt (Michelle), Lori, and Kyle Doolin, Louisia (Eric) Harrison; Steven Bacon, Donna Jackson, Stephanie Bacon and several relatives and friends. Special Nephew/Caretaker Garson Hiles. Derek was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Regina, Madeline, Burdell and Adrienne Doolin.
Homegoing service Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
