Janis K. Willhite, 84, of Osterdock, Iowa, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics.
Visitation will be held from 9 – 11 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2024, at United Methodist Church in Guttenberg, Iowa. Funeral Services will commence at 11 a.m. Rev. Neil Hofer will officiate.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Janis was born on September 21, 1940 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Fellenzer) Schoenhard. She graduated from Waterloo East High School. Janis married Brian Willhite on September 16, 1961. She worked at Rath Packing for some time. She was an important partner with her husband in Willhite Photography in Cedar Falls and Guttenberg. She and Brian enjoyed doing this for many years together.
She was a woman of faith and an active member at United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking, Hawkeye sports, and time with family. She loved her family gatherings and cooking for all who could attend. She would always offer a helping hand and thinking of others before herself.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Brian; children: Brad Willhite, Jeff (Laurie) Willhite; grandchildren: Brett (Chelsey) Willhite, Nathan (Cora) Willhite, Noah and Greyson Willhite; and a great-grandson, Lucas Willhite.
She was preceded in death by parents.
