Alanna G. Jeffery, 58, of Grand Mound, Iowa, went peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, early Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Alanna was born July 24, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Gaylard and Marilyn (Benhart) Jeffery. She graduated from Center Point High School in 1977, and went on to receive her degree in court reporting from AIB College of Business in Des Moines. She worked as an independent court reporter in Iowa and Illinois and retired after nearly 40 years. She married Tom Michoski in 1994 and had two children, Holle and Mitchell.
Alanna was a cherished daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, along with participating in the Quad City Women's Outdoor Club and Women's Business Association. She served on the board of Creative Learning Center in DeWitt and volunteered for the Veterans History Project as well as many other endeavors.
Alanna is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Holle and Mitchell Michoski; her father, Gaylard; siblings, Ryan (Sheri) Jeffery, Elise (Denny) Pool and Marla (Scott) Happel; nieces and nephews, Megan Pool, Adam (Jessica) Pool and their children, Wyatt, Kennedy, and Garrett, Taylor and Carson Jeffery, Griffin and Jake Happel and J.D. Michoski.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn.
In accordance with Alanna's wishes, there will be a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance or Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound.
