Person killed in rural West Liberty crash identified

The Iowa State Patrol has released the identity of a person who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in rural West Liberty last week.
Aaron Slaughter, 24, was a passenger in a 2006 Chevy pickup that failed to negotiate a turn early Wednesday morning while driving north in the 1200 block of Elder Avenue, west of West Liberty.
The truck rolled several times and came to rest in a soybean field. Slaughter was partially ejected from the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck — Garrett Love, 23, of Lone Tree — and the other passenger — Adrianna Timmerman, 18, of Wapello — were both injured in the crash and were taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
